Ciaran Carson

I bought a copy of Ciaran Carson’s ‘Still Life’ and it arrived today. It is – you will know – very good. It made me go back to his ‘Collected Poems’. We change as readers: we get better. Every day, with more reading, we get better. We don’t read the same poem again, over time. We read a new one when we read the old one, because of all the new life that you bring with you. But mainly because of the other poems we have read in the meantime. Maybe some you wrote, too. So, there were a few thunderbolt moments whilst reading both books. This reading and Q&A is pretty good on this score, too.
