Featured Writers for the August 2021 Symposium (4)

I’m delighted to say that the next Featured Writer to announce is Kerry Darbishire…

Kerry Darbishire lives near Kendal, Cumbria and is a member of The Brewery Poets, Write on the Farm, and Dove Cottage Poets. She has two poetry collections published by Indigo Dreams: A Lift of Wings 2014 and Distance Sweet on my Tongue 2018; a biography Kay’s Ark, the story of her mother’s life, published by Handstand Press 2016. Her poems appear widely in anthologies: This Place I Know which she co-edited; The Unpredicted Spring, and many magazines including: Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, Finished Creatures, Mslexia, The Alchemy Spoon, Artemis, For The Silent, Dreich, Hybrid Press, Reflected Light, Arrival at Elsewhere and many more. She has been placed in competitions, and recently gained 2nd prize in the Folklore competition and was commended in Grey Hen and Ware Poets competitions 2021. Some of her poetry (music by Jen Hartley) will be performed by The Cumbria Opera Group’s Lakeland Cycle on September 6th, 2021 in Ambleside Parish Church. Kerry’s new pamphlet, A Window of Passing Light will be published by Dempsey and Windle in October 2021. She has collaborated with poet Kelly Davison a pamphlet called Glory Days which is to be published by Grey Hen Run, Grey Hen Press in Autumn 2021, and herthird collection (joint winner of the Full Fat Collection) will be published by Hedgehog Press in Spring 2022.
