First poet announced for the 26th March Symposium: Richard Morwood

I’m delighted to announce the first poet for the March 2022 Symposium. If you were at the last Symposium you would have noticed Richard Morwood humaning the pop-up bookshop. We’re delighted to have him read at this event. Below is a little bit of biog. See the information below about one of Richard’s books, too.

Richard took up creative writing as a diversion from work in 2002. He has worked with Susanne Holt
of Write Lines Press as mentor and editor, since mid-2016. He did a Creative Writing (poetry) MA at Manchester University in 2017-18 as part of his retirement plan. A pamphlet, Towton Field was part of his MA dissertation
and was subsequently revised and published (Long Poem magazine issue 21: May 2019; and Write
Lines Press 2020). Richard is the Lancaster Stanza rep and an active member of Settle Poets,
Brewery Poets, Dove Cottage Poets and Barrow Writers. He kept active in the pandemic by
facilitating Zoom meetings for most of these groups. When not writing or thinking about poetry he
loves walking, cycling, reading, theatre, music, cinema, cooking and messing about on his laptop. He
is working on a first collection. For occasional updates, photos, comments and other
procrastinations see Richard Morwood @JohnEWilk
