One of the advantages of holidays is that you get the chance to learn things. In order to contribute to an upcoming musical event I have dug out a lot of equipment that hasn’t seen the light of day for twenty years. You can kid yourself for a long time that it’s easy to pick up where you’ve left off, but the honest truth is that it takes time. I have had a rare old time relearning how to make some goodly noise with these. I’ll confess that it took me two days to work out how I made these noises, twenty years ago. Or some of them, at least. The one true advantage of all that time having elapsed is that advances in technology mean that it is now easy to harness some of the noise you make: like on here, if you’re interested.
