There is a real lack of good poetry reviewing – and I can understand many of the reasons why. Sometimes you open up a review page of a poetry magazine and find stunningly bland prose. Have no fear, intrepid reader. Poetry-panning still exists. Take this as an example: https://newcriterion.com/issues/2021/6/history-lessons: you’ll need to scroll down. It wouldn’t hurt to check on The New Criterion’s credentials afterwards – that might help situate some of the things that are said in the review.
I really wish more poets would do reviews.
