Dear all – this is a very quick update. There will be a Carlisle Poetry Symposium on Saturday August 21st.
We have a set of Featured Writers for the day and we will publicise the names in the next week. We will also have a pop-up bookshop – so bring your books to sell. Bring some money, too. Although there are plans to go with contactless payments in the future (we’ve got access to a machine…. we just can’t use it, yet) but it will be a cash-based pop-up bookshop! Also, we are delighted that Grey Hen Press will also have a stall (https://www.greyhenpress.com/): bring money to buy their books!
We will have a number of open-mic opportunities for writers to sign up on the day. Doors will open at 10 at Tullie House – but the event itself will start at 11, in the room behind the cafe that we were in last time… back in November 2019. We think that the event will finish by 3:30. Please watch this space for posts. If you haven’t come before, please note that this is a free event. Please publicise this through your networks/socials.
If you already want to find out more please click the ‘Symposium’ tab on the Home page of this blog. We’ll have sanitiser… but bring your own, too! And we’ll put out more information about masks / other protocols nearer the time.
I very much hope to see you there…
